Matthew Asgari
Hi! I am a 20 year old full stack developer and have just completed my third year of computing science at the University of Alberta. I have lots of projects I am working on and have three apps published on the AppStore that have received thousands of downloads. I am using this site as a portfolio so you can check each project I've done by using the menu on the left.
About Me
I have worked in the tech industry since 2015 and love to develop mobile apps. For the summers of 2015 to 2019, I worked at Monkey Media Software as an intern where I gained invaluable information and experience about working in the tech industry. Since 2017, I have been publishing my own apps on the AppStore ranging from a wallpaper app to a full-scale online multiplayer card game.
I am always trying to find ways to make the world a better place and have been an active member of my community for years. While in high school at St. George's School, I was part of a local service group that raised over $80,000 for a village in Mwangaza, Kenya. I also traveled twice to Guatemala where I helped build homes and a school for Project Somos which is an organization that helps single mother families restart their lives and learn how be successfully independent. I was awarded the gold Duke of Edinburgh in 2018 as well as being that year's recipient of the Bruce Hicks Public Service award.
I also love working with robotics and am always working on personal robotics projects. I was the lead programmer on the robotics team for my high school and traveled with the team to San Diego to compete against other high schools and universities at the RoboSub competition. Considering we were a small high school team competing against top university teams from around the world, we placed very well having finished 11th out of 44 schools.
